Founder-Director
“It is my need to serve than saying, I serve the needy.”
Sonia founded Touching Lives at the age of 21, guided by an inner calling to serve and live with higher purpose. Rooted in Self-Work, Seva and Sadhana, she has spent over two decades working across healing, education, storytelling and social impact. An author, filmmaker, therapist, healer and social entrepreneur, Sonia holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and is trained in alternative healing modalities. Her work has taken her to rehabilitation centres, prisons, refugee camps, schools and corporate spaces worldwide. She is the author of Everyone Can Heal, 365 Days of a Sufi and Tales from Indian Mythology, among other works. Her films have screened internationally and received awards for direction and storytelling. Sonia is also the co-founder of Guidant Films and works as an impact strategist, helping filmmakers take their stories beyond cinema and into communities. She is currently establishing Touching Lives Switzerland to support social projects in India through awareness and fundraising. In 2015, she received the 100 Women Achievers of India Award, presented by the President of India.

Chief Executive Officer

Ankit holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Engineering. He began his career at the management consulting firm ZS Associates but soon realised that the corporate world was not where he belonged. He joined Touching Lives in 2012 through what he describes as a series of ‘miraculous coincidences.’
His journey began in Communications and as a student mentor. Over the years he has worked across functions and been closely involved in grassroots implementation, supporting children and families in vulnerable communities. CEO since 2018, he contributes to the projects and oversees organizational functions such as compliance and fundraising.
Ankit strongly connects with Touching Lives’ Foundation Values, particularly the belief that ‘it is our need to serve, than saying we are serving the needy.’ He also resonates deeply with the Self-Work approach and believes in working with honesty, reflection and heart.

With a Master's in Human Development and a PG Diploma in Counseling Psychology, Aditi joined in 2010 as a mentor and grew to lead the Independent Learners Project. COO since 2023, she also leads Human Resources, social media, and keeps the energy at Touching Lives alive.

A Commerce graduate with a Diploma in Early Childhood Care Education, Rubina joined Touching Lives in 2008, beginning as a Community Leader, then mentoring the Beginners and Foundation programs, and going on to lead the Finance function. Along the way, she initiated the Self-Work and Healing program for mothers, and is trained in Arts Based Therapy, Hypnotherapy and Reiki. Today, she serves the organisation as a Trustee.

Over a decade of teaching and teacher-training experience, with a Master's in Economics and Anthropology, a B.Ed. and the Cambridge International Diploma. Shirin oversees curriculum planning and trains mentors to become independent, conscious educators.

A Psychology graduate from Sophia College, Susan joined as a Teaching Fellow in 2023. She finds purpose in witnessing the growth of young minds, and today leads projects and the engagement of volunteers.

With a background in Literature and History, a B.Ed., and school-teaching experience in Mumbai, Shweta makes learning fun by weaving in students' own interests, a role model in their journey of self-discovery.

An artistic soul with a Bachelor's in Literature and a Master's in Psychology, Jahnavi joined in 2025 for the love and joy of being with children, blending insight and artistic expression to facilitate learning, healing and growth.

A Master's in English Literature and a lifelong love for teaching that began beside her mother's tuition classes. Gauri strives to be a guiding light, encouragement, motivation and a listening ear for every student.

With a Master's in Counseling Psychology, Iqra's teaching is rooted in empathy and patience, creating safe spaces where children express themselves and embrace their authentic selves.

A Master's in Counselling Psychology and a deep draw toward people's inner worlds. Palak helps children and mothers feel seen and safe, planting seeds of confidence, compassion and inner clarity.

A former school counselor with a Master's in Counselling Psychology, Avani joined in 2026. She supports children and mothers in discovering inner strengths, self-confidence and emotional well-being.

A mental health professional with over five years in the social sector, Sameer guides therapeutic planning and interventions and holistic curriculum at Touching Lives.

A postgraduate in Applied Psychology from the University of Delhi, Gaganjeet moved from corporate training to the development sector in 2013. He contributes to program strategies, mentoring team members and the youth program, and leads festival outreach and enrolment.
A coach, trainer and mentor with 27+ years in the corporate sector. Almas contributes to multiple programs: Youth Development, the Self-Work Festival for the social sector, and Mothers' Healing Circles.

A filmmaker trained at Whistling Woods International, Kanupriya is part of Touching Lives since 2024. She leads the festival's branding and content, telling its story through film, visual language and digital platforms. She also supports development of the program.

Two decades as an HR business partner across talent management, leadership development and organizational culture. Asmita advises on policies, compliance, hiring, performance and people development.
14+ years in accounts and financial management, including with start-ups. Prashant manages budgets, tax filings, audits and financial reports, with transparency and accountability at the core.
An entrepreneur at the intersection of media, technology and purposeful innovation, and Founder and CEO of Guidant Films and Guidant Technology, he brings strategic thinking and a deep commitment to social impact.
